Midwest Region
Team that everyone loves: Everyone's darling right now is West Virginia. I suppose I like them as well, almost by default. I'm not really a huge Kansas fan, and the fact that they play the toughest 14 seed in the last decade doesn't help (just meaning that if they are 15-20% to get upset in the first round instead of 3-8%, the winner of the 6/11 game becomes more attractive). So, I think WVU will beat KU, and even MSU or whoever gets to the Sweet 16 from the bottom part of the bracket. I guess I'm a sucker here for one of the teams with a strong late season push.
Another team everyone seems to love is Arizona. I'm not really sure what to think-- at first, I was like "wow, a sick talented team is going to be seeded double digits at the end of the tournament and own some poor sap, overrated single seed." Well, that is sort of what happened: Arizona got seeded as a 12 (they should absolutely not have gotten in, with only 2 road wins) and they play a small conference school in Utah. I would say >50% of the nation is picking the 12 over the 5 here, since a 12 'always' beats a 5. I'm going to go ahead and give the nod to Utah here because the games are in Miami, FL and AZ was so abysmal on the road.

F4: I don't know, call me boring, but I'm just going to pick L'Ville because of their coaching and length/athleticism. I think The Ohio State University is a hell of a tough 8 seed, and I think Wake is probably the best 4 (although I think the fours are particularly weak, and I think Wake is particularly mercurial)-- both of those teams are too inconsistent for me to pick them to beat L'Ville, who is hot, hot, hot right now. Also, since I'm going WVU to the elite eight, I'm not sold that I can go upset-upset-upset and throw a 6 in the final four. Meh, I don't really need to extend the Midwest analysis anymore, but I don't think L'Ville should have gotten the #1 overall.
